Acne is a chronic inflammatory disease of pilosebaceous unit. 

 It causes whiteheads, blackheads or pimples. Acne is most common among teenagers, though it affects people of all ages.

Onset beyond 25 yrs - LATE ONSET ACNE

Persist beyond 25 yrs - PERSISTENT ADULT ACNE

• Oil and cosmetic usage
• Dietary habits
• Smoking
• Drugs 
• Occupation

• Medical management :

1. Topical : BPO, Clindamycin , adapalene , retinoids 
2. Oral antibiotics and oral isotretinoin sometimes combined with oral contraceptives, spironolactone, and insulin sensitizers to combat acne.

• Chemical Peeling :

1. Salicylic acid and Glycolic acid are helpful for controlling acne and Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. 

• Lasers:

1. IPL  laser with gentle vacuum work by removing excess oil and dead cells from clogged pore and fractional resurfacing lasers (Co2) found effective for reducing acne scarring.
